We are on an alien planet, The sky red with smog, storms and rain. there appears to be an excavation going on in a pit, a Stargate is being lifted from the rubble of a long dead race; In Cheyenne mountain complex, the Stargate is being dialled to check for valid gate coordinates, people are making small talk whilst the gate is dialling, Carter and Daniel are talking about problems they usually encounter when they dial a new address. Chevron seven locks, people spring into the routine they go through for a new address, General O'Neil and Teal'C arrive, asking general "Whats going on" questions. Daniel tells O'Neil that they've just managed to Dial an address they've been trying to reach since O'Neil placed the Ancients address book into the Dialling system. O'Neil asks what's so special about this specific address, Carter answers "Well this is one of two addresses that we've found that are significantly close to the galactic core, the other is somewhat closer and I don't really want to risk dialling another black hole" Teal'C asks "Then why have you dialled this address if it has the chance of being close to a black hole"? Carter replies "well i don't think it is, when I was checking some of the star maps the Tok'ra gave us" O'Neil remarks "as you do" Carter continues "I found that this planet seems to have only been at these coordinates for a few thousand years, when I checked some visual maps from further away the star isn't there, it appeared out of nowhere, which is interesting since this address book would have been made millions of years before it was there." general talk about this continues as the MALP is sent through the gate, it then starts it's routine checks, finding the stump of something that was standing recently in front of the gate, O'Neil remarks that it mustn't be pleasant being vaporised by the unstable vortex, They then lose the MALP's signal. They shut down the gate, General O'Neil asks what happened, Carter is reviewing the last seconds of footage they got, they see a blue light near by, Carter tries to clear up the image, when they have cleared up the image Daniel takes a look at it, and says "Well what ever it is, that looks like some sort of armour, it maybe a machine for all we know, even a probe" Teal'C enquires as to why the MALP signal was lost Carter says "well according to the energy readings we received before we lost connection, there was a large discharge coming from that direction, probably from that object" Teal'C speculates "Perhaps it is a form of defence turret similar to what is used to guard our own Gate" O'Neil says "Well whatever it is it looks like a giant golden trash can with a plunger and egg beater sticking out of it" we see what is on the monitor they are all looking at, one thing for shore from our perspective, is that Dalek's do not make good Chefs or plumbers.
